Mother
It was you, my sweet dandelion, who first made me mother.
You, who was first to be held in the nest of my womb.
You, who was first to sleep deep by my side.
For when I birthed you, you birthed me too.
A wild, untameable transformation.
From caterpillar to butterfly, you taught me to soar. You gave courage to parts of me that were too shy before. Brought out love that was deep in my core.
For you made me mother. And mother made me.
Thank you, sweet dandelion, for showing me who to be.
